EB2 for Nepal will be current in October, but due to new rule I'm not sure how backlogged it will be.

I think it is current. So, you can immediately apply for I-485 after the PERM is approved. No need to wait for the date for current. Man, really feel for the Indians with ~10 yrs wait.

@ticrubelop please don't give false information. EB2-ROW has retrogressed for August and Sept and will only be current in October.
@gorakhkali, do not submit I-485 now. There are some people who submitted their I485 during last year's retrogression and USCIS rejected them months later telling that the dates were retrogressed. They lost 8/9 months. USCIS should have rejected them instantly, but did only months later. But you can still file your I-140 now and wait till October to file I-485.
Hope that helps.

This in-person interview will create a long backlog for sure.

I would say it will take at least 6 months longer now because of the Mandatory In-person interview.
