LeShan DaFo (Happy Mountain Big Buddha) is located in central
China's Sichuan province. This seventy-one meter tall Buddha statue was
carved into a cliff face about 1,300 years ago. It gained the title of
"World's Largest Buddha" after the Taliban government destroyed the
cliff-carved Buddha statues in Bamyan, Afghanistan.
